How to manage block bookings in ADI Admin

Use block bookings to track prepaid driving lesson time, whether the block has already been paid or is still owed, while pupil balances update as lessons are booked, changed or corrected.

This guide explains how the feature works inside ADI Admin, the diary and admin app for independent UK driving instructors.

Basic steps

  1. 1

Open the Block bookings page from the main app navigation.

  2. 2

Choose the pupil who is buying the block and enter the number of prepaid hours.

  3. 3

Choose Paid if the money has already been received, or Unpaid if it is still owed. Both options make the prepaid hours available to use.

  4. 4

For a Paid block, enter the Payment received date. If an Unpaid block is paid later, you can mark it as Paid from Income without adding the hours again.

  5. 5

ADI Admin uses the pupil's Manual or Automatic pricing when suggesting the value of prepaid lessons.

  6. 6

When you book a lesson using prepaid time, the full lesson duration is deducted automatically from the pupil's balance.

  7. 7

If a mistake is made, use the balance correction options to remove hours or add them back where appropriate.

Useful for

  • Tracking prepaid lesson time for each pupil
  • Recording whether a block booking is Paid or Unpaid
  • Automatically deducting time when prepaid lessons are booked
  • Using the correct Manual or Automatic lesson pricing
  • Correcting pupil balances when a mistake is made
